“This chaos and instability is a nightmare for millions of Americans, but a government shutdown is Trump and his puppet party’s dream. For months, Trump and Republicans in Congress have been quietly dismantling critical parts of our government–from mass layoffs to cancelling funding for lifesaving cancer research. They’ve taken health care away from millions of Americans. and are wasting away our hard-earned money on militarizing forces against their own people. Now, they’re pushing the country toward a full government shutdown. Trump wants you to believe the government can’t work for the people, even as his own party controls all the levers.
We need a good-faith funding bill that will stop the chaos, protect our healthcare, and start undoing the damage of the Republican Party and its enablers. The GOP refuses to do anything other than line the pockets of their billionaire friends while real people are paying the price.”
