Community Change Action, and its sister organization Community Change, work to build the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low-income people of color, to change the policies and institutions that impact their lives.

Our staff are agents of change in the world, and we want them to be able to lead their work and personal lives with presence, power, and vision.

How We Work

As an organization, we view our staff as agents of change in the world and we want them to be able to lead their work and personal lives with presence, power and vision.

By 2033, we will improve dramatically the material conditions for people struggling to make ends meet in the United States, particularly poor people of color, as measured by changes in poverty rates and racial and gender disparities.

Remote First

After an abrupt pivot in March 2020, we decided to support a permanent transition to remote work for most staff.

We created several opportunities for our staff to engage in reflection and dialogue that can foster new learning.

Our Full Selves

We aim to support a personal-professional balance that is rare in the organizing and social justice world.

What We Value

Organizing for transformation requires us to imagine a world that we have never seen.

Justice is what love looks like in public, and love for our communities drives our work.

We take risks and communicate courageously because that is how people, organizations, and movements grow stronger.
