After House Democrats secured the support to ensure a vote on a clean three-year extension of ACA subsidies, Community Change Action Director of Care Economy Jennifer Wells said
“Failing to vote to extend the enhanced ACA subsidies is a failure to the 22 million people who need these subsidies before the end of the year. The GOP has led us into this crisis, and now Speaker Johnson and Congressional Republicans must do the right thing and schedule a floor vote immediately.
For years, Republicans have talked about repealing the ACA, and for the last 11 months they’ve taken steps to gut all the lifelines low-income and working families rely on to survive.
To all Representatives: this is your chance to do right by your constituents and vote ‘yes’ to extend these subsidies now. Our system has to work for everyone, and your job is to stay focused on expanding healthcare, not ripping it away.”
