Teresa

MI-07

Hi, my name is Teresa, and I am a 60-year-old woman living in Lansing, Michigan. I have been living with multiple health concerns for many years now.

I currently make less than the poverty threshold and it’s difficult to make ends meet. When I was first diagnosed, I was afraid of the high costs of medications and treatments. I have worried about how it would affect my ability to pay my bills and I have had to choose between buying nutritious food and paying for other necessities. Thankfully, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid have been an incredible help to me.

I have worried about how it would affect my ability to pay my bills and I have had to choose between buying nutritious food and paying for other necessities.

I am terrified that our lawmakers will make large cuts to these programs… which will ultimately lead to cuts to these programs in my home state of Michigan. Cutting these vital programs is unjust and unfair. This is why I am sharing my story.
